Barcelona have decided to renew the contract of Danish defender Andreas Christensen for another season, despite recurring injuries that have limited his playing time this season, a move that reflects the Catalan club’s confidence in the player’s experience and defensive skills.
According to the Spanish broadcaster “Cadena Ser,” the offer presented to Christensen includes a lower base salary than his current contract, as well as various incentives linked to performance and participation, as part of the club’s policy of restructuring the wage bill and easing financial burdens.
The Danish defender has played only about 600 minutes this season, due to a series of injuries that have kept him off the field for varying periods, affecting his consistency and physical preparation.
