Manchester United has made direct contact with Marcus Rashford’s camp to discuss a plan for reintegrating him into the first-team squad.
The club has arranged a third loan spell and plans to reintegrate him into training under coach Michael Carrick for pre-season, while awaiting transfer offers.
The forward, who is under contract until 2028, is open to reporting back to Old Trafford for the start of the season.
Barcelona has ruled out triggering a £26 million permanent purchase clause following the player’s loan spell in Spain.
United will assess Rashford’s pre-season performance before making a final decision on his future in the transfer market.
